some preliminary photos and updated design notes

We've made additional design changes which will be incorporated in the production units, eliminating the compass which proved not to be particularly useful - a combination of proximity to the motors plus other magnetic interference indoors, but replacing it with an array of infrared emitters and detectors.

The new elements will allow us to add navigation beacons and barriers, plus provide a simple close-proximity inter-robot communication mechanism for use with multiple robot operations.

Here's a photo of the prototype - it only has one emitter at the moment, but the detectors provide 360-degree coverage, and we'll add the other emitters with the new PCB layout ...
