a very odd problem

I'm a n00b - got the robot just yesterday.

The Blackfin was working fine (moving around etc.) with the adhoc network. I tried to change to infrastructure network (my home network), with an arbitrarily high IP address viz. 192.168.1.107. After applying the settings though, I coudn't reach the config webpage with that address. The surveyor support person suggested I use the Lantronix DeviceInstaller program (http://www.lantronix.com/device-networking/utilities-tools/device-installer.html ) to locate the module. That worked, and I assigned a new IP to the blackfin - and I could access its settings in the browser. So far so good. I wanted to get the adhoc connectivity back, and changed the settings back to the factory originals (for adhoc networks). That worked - well kinda. I got the adhoc network back, could connect to it ok, but the java console doesn't get any camera feed, nor does the robot move. The command window keeps saying "wrote 'I'" in an endless loop. I checked http://webcamsat-ip-address:8888/admin and that page did not have any camera feeds too. And the IP address configuration in srv.config is the same as when I got it when I downloaded the software - it has network.srv.host=169.254.0.10

At this point, I just want to get back to the adhoc network if possible. What are my options?
Thanks in advance to all of you.

You probably reset the Matchport settings for baud rate.  To fix this,

telnet 169.254.0.10 9999

Press Enter for Setup Mode

Change Setup:
  0 Server
  1 Channel 1
  2 Channel 2
  3 E-mail
  4 WLAN
  5 Expert
  6 Security
  7 Defaults
  8 Exit without save
9 Save and exit            Your choice ?

First, select 5 Expert
for CPU performance, enter FF
for clk?, enter 81
change MTU Size from 1400 to 1024
skip the rest of the options

Next, select 1 Channel 1
for Baudrate, enter -1
for divisor, enter 2
for flow control, enter 2
further down, for FlushMode, enter 80
for Pack Cntrl, enter C0
for InterCh Time, enter 3
skip the rest of the options

Finally, select 9 Save and exit

Thanks a lot! Now the adhoc network is working perfectly.
I still don't know why it's not working through my infrastructure network though - and I'm a bit scared to experiment. Any ideas?

Thanks again for all the help. Much appreciated.

I switch back and forth between adhoc and infrastructure all the time.  The main thing is to enable DHCP on the host computer, but that does not seem to be your problem.  The only things you have to change on the Matchport are adhoc vs infrastructure, the SSID, and the IP address.  I don't bother with changing netmask or network gateway.
