simulating algorithms for blackfin

Forgive the multiple posts, but can anyone direct me toward a guide for simulating algorithms for proper functionality and efficiency analysis?

Many thanks

I generally use gcc on OS/X or Linux to test algorithms, assuming they are C-based.  The code generally moves seamlessly from one platform to the other.

Again, thanks

However testing blackfin asm files most likely won't work well...
