Purpose:
Provide vehicle with SVS and pan-tilt
for experiments.
Dimensions: 28 cm * 30 cm * 34 cm
Clearance 2 cm
Mech. hardware:
a) 4 motors, powered from LiPo 2S, gearbox 1:48. Motors joined into left and right pairs (as for SRV1q)
b) wheels, rubber tires (
http://www.inexglobal.com)
c) motors controlled by usual L293D H-Bridge, L293D is not hot after walking.
d) pan-tilt brackets from Lynxmotion
e) 2 servos Hitec 5980 (controlled through rs232)
El. hardware:
a) Surveyor SVS (2 Blackfins + 2 cameras, Wi-Fi)
b) two microcontrollers (PIC18F8722 [body] and PIC18F2520 [head])
PIC18F8722 connected to Blackfin board #1 UART #1
c) several IR sensors SHARP (1 * 20-150cm, 6 * 10-80cm)
d) sonar SRF10
e) 2 accelerometers (body and head)
f) 3 gyroscopes
g) highlight leds (Luxeon) at head for dark places (managed by ULN2803A)
h) several termometers DS18B20, SD card 4Gb, realtime clock, barometer, humidity sensor
i) GPS... but useless indoor
j) two small laser modules
Compas excluded, too noise environment from very powerful servos.
Powered by 8000 mAh LiPo (several hours of operations are available)
In common, all useful sensors from Sparkfun.com, connected to microcontroller with 80 pins
Microcontroller manages motor driver, pan-tilt servos, highlights,
read sensors and provides information to SVS board by rs232.
SVS board reads cameras and sends everything to PC application.
In future I will reuse this head for 4 leg animat (like horse).
