Lost power supply - europe
11/29/09 at 3:59am

hi there,

I have a blackfin robot but lost the power supply. Since I will have to buy a new one and since I don't know anything about power supplies, here's my question:

what are the characteristics of the power supply so I quickly can order a new one, european style Wink

Thanks,

You want a charger that was specifically designed for Li-ion or Li-poly.  Output should be 8.4V at somewhere around 1A.  A charger for NiCd or NiMh won't work.

Hi, the store where I want to buy the adapter, asks me if it is possible to sent them a photo of the adapter specifics.
(He claims that it isn't logical what I told him)

Like seen on this page: http://surveyor-corporation.stores.yahoo.net/srrobach.html

it is actually the label underneath the two pins that I need, readable if possible Wink

Can someone please provide me with a picture of that ? I miss my robot Sad

What I already know about the charger:

Power: 7.2V 2000mAH Li-poly battery pack - 4+ hours per charge
Charger: 100-240VAC 50/60Hz (US plug)
Li-ion or Li-poly
Output 8.4V around 1A

Hi, just one question remaining: does the adapter has a current/voltage regulator circuit in the charger or is it integrated in the battery? Because shortcutted Li-Ion batteries tend to blow up Wink

I think you may be able to get your questions answered by the team over at Inertia Labs/Open Source Robotics. They supply the SRV base, batteries and chargers. Here is a link to the current chargers supplied with SRV robots (http://osbots.com/shop/product/li-poly-charger-surveyor-2-cell/). I'm not sure if this is the same for your SRV but it is your best option to find answers.

Cheers,
