SRV1 dead???
07/08/10 at 6:31am

Hi,

I have a SRV1 cam, that doesn't react any more. The startup-light sequence is as it should be but I can't connect to the cam. I've connected the cam by an FTDI-3.3V cable and an external power supply (3.3V). The cable is working (did a loopback on rx and tx), but I get no answer from the cam in the terminal. When I try Autobaud, I get the error
Timeout. Check BMODE pins and reset the processor before trying again
But reset doesn't help. Pin17 is connected to gnd.

Can someone give me a hint what to do???

Best regards, Ozzy

That is odd.  Is it possible that the Blackfon tx and rx connections are swapped?

I'm using an FTDI-3.3V cable as well, if I can be of any help.  But you had the cable working before?

I have to be careful to plug mine in correctly!

Well I don't think that rx and tx are switched. But I can try later, but the cable is pluged correctly. Is there anything else I can do?

Sounds like the Blackfin uart might have been damaged by static discharge.  Unfortunately this isn't something that can be repaired.
