Tilt Lasers along with Camera?
07/19/10 at 11:50am

I'm putting the blackfin camera and WiFi on a small Mircomouse like (a little bigger) 'bot of my own design.  I want to put the camera/WiFi boards on a tilt; and while designing a camera support bracket to work with the Lynxmotion SES brackets, I thought to put the lasers up on the face plate of the bracket as well.

Is this wise?  what geometry does range-finding using the camera an the lasers involve?  Would it be better to have the lasers track along with the camera, or not?

Thanks,

I would suggest that you have the lasers move with the camera. That way, the reflected light would always appear within an expected band of pixels in the camera field of view.
