Installation

Installation from floppy disk

Insert the diskette in your 3.5" diskette station. Press the `Start' button, choose menu option `Run', type `a:\setup', and press the OK button. This will start the ISpy installation program.

Installation over Internet

Run the executable, named ISpyxxxz.exe (where xxx is the version number, e.g. 200 for version 2.00, and z is the release (r)/demo (d) indication). This will start the ISpy installation program.

Upgrading

If you have a previous version of ISpy installed, just reinstall the software and choose the same target directory as your previous installation. All your settings will be remembered.

The ISpy installation program

The ISpy installation program will install the ISpy program and some auxiliary files. By default, it will install the software into the directory

C:\Program Files\ISpy\

and install a program group

Start - Programs - ISpy WebCam

which contains shortcuts for the software, manual, readme, samples, etc.

See Appendix C for detailed information about all the files installed.

If you are not using the US English version of Windows 95 or Windows NT, please follow the following steps to install ISpy:

  • Choose setup type 'custom'
  • Choose to not install the System Internet Extensions
  • Finish installation as usual, but do not start ISpy yet!

If the Internet Extensions for your language are available for download from the ISpy web site, download them, and put them in the same directory you installed ISpy in. Now you can run ISpy.

If the Internet Extensions for your language are not available for download, download Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.02 or 4.01 in your own language, from http://www.microsoft.com/ie/, and install and run it. ISpy should work now.

If Microsoft Internet Explorer is also not available in your language, you can try installing the US English System Internet Extensions that are supplied with ISpy. You may experience problems as a result of this.

Registration

You don't need to register your copy of ISpy (demo or release version) with us. The release version of ISpy will perform automatic registration when making the first connection.
