Images captured and sent by Webcam32 to a Web browser or FTP server may also be captured and saved locally to disk. In the Image Save dialog, the Directory and File name specify the directory and name of saved files. The names can be modified in one of three ways:
The files will be written to the disk with the name specified with a prefix of the file index number added. For example, the file my_image.jpg will become 1_my_image.jpg and the file 1_my_image.jpg will become 2_my_image.jpg. The files are saved in a rolling loop so the oldest file will be lost and all other files shuffled up by one.
The file names will be modified to include a time format code. When written to disk, these image file names will contain the date/time that the file was saved. For examples of timed based names and the codes available, visit here.
An incrementing index starting at 1 will be added as a suffix on the final file name. For example, the first image will be saved as my_image0000.jpg, the next as my_image0001.jpg and so on.
No file extension (eg. .jpg) is needed on the file name. Webcam32 will add one automatically. The HTTP Save box must be checked if images delivered by Webcam32 via HTTP transport are to be saved. FTP Save box must be checked if images delivered by Webcam32 via FTP transport are to be saved.
Additionally, Webcam32 can also be configured to save images via Timer control to the local disk. This is an Interval specified in seconds which instructs Webcam32 to create and save a new image every timed interval. This is independent of other timers such as the FTP or dialup timers.
In V5.0.2
When the timer control for local save is activated, the Batch Controls button may be used. Pressing this button results in the following dialog being displayed:

The batch controls allow a number of Local Save images to be uploaded to the FTP server in one operation. If the Batch Enabled box is checked, the batch controls are in effect. The Batch file count identifies how many images must be locally saved before upload. Once that number of images have been saved by Local Save, Webcam32 will then upload all the images in one batch burst. The names of the uploaded files will be based on the Base file name for batch files. The names of the uploaded files will be
If the Image Compare option is enabled in the Video Settings, then an image will only be saved if it has differed from the previous image by the image comparison percentage.
Grab Warning
If warning sounds are enabled and this check box is selected, a warning will be played before local save capture.
Also Save Palm images
Grayscale images of correct resolution for PALM viewing are also saved locally using the palm extension specified under FTP advanced settings.
