Menus


Webcam32 displays a number of menus.  The following sections describe the menus within Webcam32.

The menu bar ...

The menu bar contains the following entries:

File

  • Camera selection (example illustrates ViCAM AVI Capture Device, iVision, and a USB Camera)
  • Preferences - Opens the Preferences dialog box
  • Show Profiles - Browses the available configuration profiles
  • Setup Wizard - Allows you to set up FTP information for connecting to a remote server
  • Performance Tests - Displays your computer's performance for capturing images from your camera
  • Exit - Ends the program

View

  • Toolbar - Hides/shows the toolbar at the top of the window
  • Status Bar - Hides/shows the status bar at the bottom of the window
  • Hide - Hides the window from the screen and the task bar
  • Hide at Startup - Allows Webcam32 to be minimized at start up

Window

  • Preview - Toggles on/off the live preview mode.  If preview is on, CPU is consumed.  Preview is not required to be on to capture video images for the web.
  • Chat Display - Displays the Chat dialog along with previous messages, others users logged on, and allows you to send messages
  • Http Connections - Displays the statistics dialog for direct HTTP access
  • Statistics - Displays FTP, HTTP and local statistics logging (example: number of frames sent)

Help

  • Help topics - Opens your local Help files for Webcam32
  • Online Help - Opens the online Help section of our website
  • Registration - Displays the Webcam32 registration instructions
  • Check for Update - Displays a dialog box that will search for the existence of a later version than is currently installed
  • About Webcam32 - Displays the about box
  • Help Wizard - Opens the Surveyor webcam32 online Help Wizard.
