The Webcam32 Preview window shows a preview of the image that will be uploaded to the web via FTP or transmitted live via JavaCamPush.
This page describes some options and additional details relating to the preview functions within Webcam32.
Continually refreshing the preview window consumes CPU cycles and can slow the operation of a PC. This was especially true of low power machines (< 200 Mhz) and parallel printer port attached video capture devices. The new breed of machines and capture cards/cameras do not suffer nearly as much from this problem.
When Webcam32 has input focus from the mouse or keyboard, the preview rate increases to the maximum configured. When Webcam32 loses input focus, the preview rate drops to one new frame per second. The preview rate does not effect the interval of captured images for FTP upload or Server Push streaming.

The Webcam32 preview settings allow changes to be made to the preview images generated.
The preview can be Enabled or disabled. When disabled, no previews are generated.
If Preview Scale is enabled, the preview image will be scaled to fit the size of the main Webcam32 window.
The Preview Interval specifies a time in milliseconds between frames. A value of 66 milliseconds will generate 15 frames per second.
New in Webcam32 V5.0.0, detached preview was introduced. Detached preview results in just the preview window being visible when Webcam32 is hidden to the system tray. Webcam32 can be restored by right-clicking in the preview window.
